Associação Brasileira de Preservação Audiovisual (ABPA)’s mission is to contribute to the technical, scientific and cultural development and improvement of professionals working in the field of audiovisual preservation, promoting the appreciation, improvement and dissemination of audiovisual preservation work through various actions and initiatives. Examples of these initiatives are the organization of forums and seminars to debate topics related to the universe of audiovisual preservation, the defense of the institutionalization of higher education aimed at training professionals to work in the field, and the release of specialized publications.

ABPA is a civil association, governed by private law, on a non-economic basis, which also aims to stimulate awareness and promote public interest in safeguarding and accessing Brazilian audiovisual heritage as a historical, cultural, artistic, educational and economic resource.
